January Wolf Moon

Tonight is the first full moon of 2023 the aptly named Wolf Moon. But why is it called the Wolf Moon? It is due to wolves' mating season at this time of year, they become more vocal in their efforts to attract a mate. Other names include Cold Moon, Ice Moon or Hard Moon, ones that emphasise the struggles of the cold in Winter.

But this full moon is special as it is a micro moon. A micro moon is the opposite of a Supermoon - it is when the apogee is at the furthest point away from the Earth on its elliptical path.

So how can we use this micro moon?  It is a great time for self-reflection on these cold January days, have gratitude for friends and family and celebrating new beginnings for 2023!
