February Full Moon

Tonight is another beautiful full moon and this name goes all the way back to the 1760s.  As Captain Carver called it Snow Moon because more “snow falls during this month than any other in the winter”. This was in reference to visiting Northern US states - now known as North and South Dakota, during this exploration of the country.  In other areas, it is known as The Hungry Moon or Bony Moon due to the scarcity of food at this time. ❄️❄️❄️
